Manufacturing Composite Tooling for the Future of Aquaculture

As the aquaculture industry continues to evolve, demand is growing for advanced production solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability and fish welfare.

Grandus Group contributed to this development by manufacturing large-scale glass fibre composite moulds used in the production of closed-containment fish farming tanks. These moulds play a critical role in the manufacturing process, enabling the precise and efficient production of large composite structures.

Our scope of work included:
✔ Manufacturing large-scale glass fibre composite moulds
✔ Mould production for the tank bottom, roof and side sections
✔ Precision surface finishing
✔ Polishing
✔ Waxing
✔ Preparing the moulds for production

Each mould was manufactured in nine individual sections, with each section covering approximately 250 m². Once assembled, these sections form the complete tooling required to manufacture the final fish farming tank. Producing composite tooling of this scale requires exceptional dimensional accuracy, outstanding surface quality and meticulous craftsmanship to ensure reliable and consistent production of the final composite components.
